History

Midland's Open Door began in 1973 as a street outreach ministry. Today Midland's Open Door operates: a Men's Crisis Shelter; the House of Mercy crisis shelter for women and children; a Soup Kitchen serving hot, wholesome meals Monday-Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m., and "God's Closet" offering free clothing for men and women.

Midland's Open Door is a nonprofit organization managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We are funded by donations from individuals, churches, service clubs and businesses. Midland's Open Door seeks grants from foundations for capital purchases and capital improvement projects.
