Volunteer/Participate

Midland's Open Door is powered by volunteers. At our last tally, our volunteer base included approximately three hundred and fifty men and women, and more are needed.

Current volunteer needs:

  • Bible Study Leaders
    Facilitate small group Bible studies or disciple a male or female resident. An interview with the director is required.
  • Coffeehouse Leader
    Provide gospel-centered messages and testimonies and/or services of music. The Coffeehouse ministry takes place on the third Saturday of every month from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm and is open to our residents and Soup Kitchen guests.
  • Driver Using MOD vehicles, provide safe, reliable transportation for men, women, or moms and children, needing rides to and from job interviews, work, church events, appointments and school.
  • Men’s and Women’s Crisis Shelter Assistants
    Assist shelter staff in meeting the needs of women or men living in the shelter. Answer phones and take messages, help with guest check-in and paperwork, dispense medications and hand out materials to new clients.
  • Office Professional
    Provide general office assistance by answering the phone, complete mailings or data entry. Shifts are four hours; from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
  • Serving Meals
    Serve lunch in our Soup Kitchen (Monday – Saturday) or dinner at our men’s crisis shelter or at the House of Mercy (Sunday – Saturday).
  • Volunteer Coordinator
    Assist the various ministry leaders by coordinating individual volunteers and groups and matching them with project opportunities. An interview with the director is required.
  • Group Projects available!
