Women and children in Midland are hurting. Even before the pandemic, the needs of vulnerable women and children were on the rise.  In 2022 alone, Midland’s Open Door could not serve 70 Midland County homeless women and children due to insufficient shelter space. And now, with the rising costs of food, housing and basic needs, the need is growing.

Help us make room.

You can be part of the solution during this year’s Dow Run Walk. Pledge to race and raise funds for the Open Door’s women and children’s shelter expansion project, or be the one who gives to support the champions at the starting line. Every dollar donated goes straight to retrofitting the new crisis shelter on Carpenter Street so that Open Door’s guests can move in before September.

Make Room. Make a Difference.

The historic Dow RunWalk, organized by the Greater Midland Community Center, opens the race season with a community race in the heart of Midland. From beginners to veteran racers, there’s a race for everyone: Half Marathon, 10k Run, 5k Run, 5K Walk, 1 Mile Run or the Tot Trot. No need to worry about a washout – the race takes place on Saturday, June 3, at the community center, rain or shine!
